Every mode and button, explained.

Understand every welding mode and button on your Thorworx machine. Select your model below.

MIG 200

Welding modes

  1. MIG Full Control

Full manual MIG welding where you set every parameter yourself, wire speed, voltage, everything. Best for experienced welders who know exactly what settings they want and don't need the machine guiding them.

  2. Thorworx

    ThorSync™

ThorSync™ is our synergic MIG control system that adjusts voltage and output as you weld, giving you a stable arc without the guesswork. Faster setup, smoother performance, and more consistent results.

  3. MIG Pulse

Pulse MIG regulates the arc by delivering power in controlled bursts instead of a constant flow. This helps reduce heat buildup while maintaining strong weld performance, making it easier to control the weld and achieve cleaner results.

  4. Lift TIG

Provides precise, clean welding by starting the arc on contact and lifting off. Ideal for controlled welds on thinner materials and detailed work.

  5. Stick (MMA)

Traditional electrode/stick welding. You clamp a flux-coated rod into the holder and strike an arc directly. The most versatile mode for outdoor use, dirty/rusty metal, and structural work since it doesn't need shielding gas.

Control buttons

  1. DIA.

Sets the diameter of the MIG wire you're using. Common sizes are 0.6mm, 0.8mm, 1.0mm, and 1.2mm. The machine needs to know this so it can calculate the correct wire feed speed and voltage, especially important in Synergic mode.

  2. GAS

Tells the machine what gas you're running, typically CO₂, or a mixed gas like 75/25 (Argon/CO₂). Different gases affect arc characteristics and spatter levels, so the machine adjusts its parameters accordingly when in Synergic or Pulse mode.

  3. STEPS MODE

Controls how the torch trigger behaves. 2T, Hold the trigger to weld, release to stop. Simple and intuitive. 4T, Press and release to start welding, press and release again to stop. Better for long welds so you're not holding the trigger the whole time, reduces hand fatigue.

  4. GAS FLOW

Activates a gas purge, it opens the solenoid and lets gas flow without starting an arc. Used to check and set your regulator flow rate (typically 10–15 L/min) before you start welding, or to purge air from the hose.

  5. WELD MODE

This is your main mode selector, cycles through the welding processes: MIG Full Control, ThorSync™, MIG Pulse, Lift TIG, and Stick.

  6. FEED WIRE

Feeds wire through the torch without triggering the gas or arc. Useful when you're loading a new wire spool and need to thread the wire through the liner and out the tip without accidentally striking an arc.
